Over the years, shillongskatemag has been actively organizing and participating in events across the city—strengthening community bonds, highlighting local talent, and sharing the culture of skateboarding with a wider audience. From intimate skate jams to collaborative cultural showcases, each gathering reflects our love for skateboarding and our growing community.
Go Skate Day 2023 – Shillong Edition
On June 21, 2023, Shillong hosted the second edition of Go Skate Day Northeast, bringing together skate communities from across the region to celebrate the global event.

A collaboration between shillongskatemag and Boardzup Magazine, the Skateboarding is an Art event celebrating the intersection of skateboarding and artistic expression.

Looking Ahead
With more events in the pipeline, we plan to continue supporting the local scene, hosting get-togethers, and raising funds for skate video projects that showcase the beauty of our towns and streets. Our mission remains rooted in highlighting local talent and sharing the raw energy of India’s skateboarding culture with the world.
As the scene grows, we hope for more collaborations, more stories, and more skate video parts that connect the Northeast with the larger skateboarding movement across India and beyond.
